The Perfect Summer Wedding Dress

June 20, 2017 · 1 Comment

summer wedding dress

It’s June which means we are at the start of Wedding Season…. It’s that time of year guys and gals are trying to figure out what the heck they’re going to wear to the big event. Nobody wants to outshine the bride and groom on the big day but you also want to make sure you’re dressed up to par for the occasion. Don’t worry ladies I have you all covered. I came upon a great site called GCGME that offers an array of different dress styles and jumpsuits for any occasion that may come your way. I know for me when it comes to weddings, I like to make sure I get something comfy and loose fitting that allows me to move and not be so hot due to the summer heat.

This year I have no weddings to attend sadly but if I did, the Ava Cap sleeve maxi dress from GCGME would be the perfect look to wear to a summer wedding. Not only is the pattern really nice and different its very comfy and lightweight. Nobody likes spending a fortune on an outfit they will wear one time, at least I know I don’t. I rather spend my coins on something I can get multiple uses thats why a key question I always ask myself when shopping is “How can I use this again?”. With GCGME being so affordable they for sure have tons of options I know I can use over again in the future. I’ll be able to wear my maxi dress on my next tropical vacation out the country or a summer date night with the boo. I love how the light pinks and purples in the dress gives it a nice feminine touch and all flow together for an elegant feel. Since this is a wrap dress you have the choice to really play around with how much leg and cleavage you want to showcase. You can either show a little leg for a more low key look or show a lot ( ladies if its a wedding I say show a little, and save the extra thigh meat for date night ).

Dress: GCGME (size XL)

So next time you find yourself in a dilemma looking for an outfit keep GCGME in mind. The wide range in sizes and selections is what makes shopping for the right outfit so easy. Not to mention the shipping is super fast which really helps if you’re a last minute girl when it comes to shopping for any ocassions. So what do you all think of my choice of dress for attending a summer wedding. I know many people have certain taboos on the do’s and don’ts of wedding attire ….Do any of you all have certain superstitions you heard of let me know? In the meantime thanks for stopping by and as always Owl see yah soon on the next post!!

Spring Florals

Floral Skirt

Where is summer? (Crying Emoji) Well technically it’s still springtime but even that has barely shown its face around my city lately. I’m so ready for the warmer weather filled with summer fashion sundresses,flip-flops and swimwear.

Therefore with the weather not being the greatest it has kind of put a damper on my mood. I haven’t exactly put much effort into getting dressed lately. So to offset my blah mood, I decided to add some color to my pretty basic wardrobe. Now I’m not usually one for lots of color but since it is spring why not right ? floral print is really trendy this season so I figured I partake and purchase a few floral items. While surfing the interweb, a cute floral scuba skirt spoke to me the moment I laid eyes upon it on the CurvySense website. CurvySense is an online fashion retailer that caters to women size 0x-4x. I love how that they offer clothing for any occasion such as swimwear for a day at the beach or a LBD (Little Black Dress) for girls night. No matter what your needs are it seems like CurvySense always has you covered.

Lets get into the outfit details. I decided to wear a simple plain white crop top to make sure my skirt was the main focus.  The skirt was a perfect match for my body type being A-line cut. I love how the A-line style makes my legs appear longer, and cinches at my waist. I put on some cute little pink Mary Jane heels to really make the colors pop.  After getting dressed and putting on such a fun vibrant outfit it really did lift my spirits.

I can’t wait to see what other ways I can style my floral skirt for the up coming months. I just hope some warmer weather is coming soon. Is anyone else having a pretty chilly spring? Also what do you all think of the floral trend is it drab or fab? let me know in the comments below. As always thanks for stopping by and Owl see ya Later.

Untied Kingdom Vacation Recap

June 1, 2017 · Leave a Comment

As you all may have perviously read I just came back from a trip to London on a deal that was too good to pass up. If you haven’t read my pervious post on 10 things to know before visiting London well go check it out here. Lets jump into the details of the trip. I booked my trip totally out of just wanting to be away for my Bday and celebrate elsewhere other than home. I always loved London since I was younger. I grew up loving The Spice Girls, SClub7, Cleopatra oh and lets not forget Austin Powers who all made London look cool (90’s babies know what i’m talking about). I traveled to London for about 8 days and loved every minute of it. My Friend Alex and I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the country. Heres what I did on my adventure.

Day 1

We were kind of tired from the 6hr flight but we sucked it up and took the train to Picadilly Circus to check out the scene and go search for some food. We had lunch at a local place near by called Garfunkel’s which kind of reminded me of our Fridays. Alex had the Fish and Chips while I had the Scampi Basket. After exploring the city we were pretty tired so we headed back to our Airbnb flat to get some rest before our train ride to Paris.

Day 2-3

We spent the next two days in the wonderful city of Paris. We took the Eurostar which is a 2 hr train ride from London to Paris. Being in Paris was simply breathtaking, from the architecture to the way the ambience set the mood for the whole city. Since we wanted to explore the the city we took a ‘Hop-On-Hop-Off’ tour bus that offered a river cruise down the Seine River. Paris truly is so full of history and style. It was great listening to everyone speak French and be so full of life. The food was everything I expected and more. I fell in love with Pizza all over again at a little spot we found next to the Eiffel Tower. I would love to go back. Simply because a day in a half just wasn’t enough! But you know what?  I’m so happy I can say I have been and enjoyed every moment of it.

Day 4-6

The next few days was simply enjoyable, and to be honest is when the real fun began. We took a ride on the famous Coca Cola London Eye, which many think is a giant Ferris wheel but it’s actually a cantilevered observation wheel. The London eye has 32 capsules to ride in and on a good clear day you can see about 40 km (25 miles) from the top of the London Eye. The day we went was gorgeous out so I was able to get some beautiful shots of the city. After the loop around on the London Eye it was time for another River Cruise on the Thames River. It was a bit chilly on the water but it was great getting some history on the city of London while cruising the open water, waving at everyone on the bridges and sidewalks. As if the London Eye and cruise wasn’t enough I then checked out the Sea Life London Aquarium which was really cool. I loved seeing all the various aquatic creatures and being able to interact with the penguins (one of them was totally ‘hamming it up’ for the cameras lol).

After all the fun and adventure in both cities, the last thing  I had to do before leaving London was AFTERNOON TEA. Now anyone who knows me knows I’m a lover of tea mostly ice tea but I drink literally any kind of tea. Just make sure you hold the sugar please and definitely any form of cream. I decided to indulge at Patisserie Valerie for my Afternoon Tea fix( it’s kind of like Starbucks but BETTER). It was such a cute set up from the way they organized the savory treats on the bottom and desserts the on top. I really enjoyed the quiche and finger sandwiches. The best part though was the SCONES which I smothered with black currant jam and clotted cream, SO YUMMMMMMY!

Going to Europe and exploring a completely different country will surely go down in the books. I’m happy I can say I got to see a new place and experience life in such a unique way than what I’m use to. I hope you all enjoyed the pics, Also make sure to stop by Alex’s  page he took tons of amazing shots. I think everyone should  get up and explore the world. Until my next travel adventure! Owls see ya later
