The excellent team of people at Hot Ginger LA contacted me and asked if I would like to do a Collaboration with them on their new curvy subscription boxes. Hot Ginger La who just recently launched their website *throws confetti* sent me over a few goodies currently available in the fall curvy box. The way the curvy box works is every month they send you some new pieces that go with the theme of the season. Now how fun is that!

I received six pieces, but out of all of them, this one olive green dress stood out to me. Olive green is a favorite color of mine in the fall months. I loved how I could take this dress and make it my own style. With the fall season here and winter right around the corner, this was perfect for the fall/winter vibe.

It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

That’s right one of my favorite times of the year is among us. So many Holiday filled events go on from November to December. Tis the season of velvet, sequins, glitz and glam. I love when the holidays approach because that means fun times with family and I get to attend so many fun events. Not All Wide Calfs Are Created Equal

It’s Boots season Finally….one reason I love the colder months because thats the best time to get out those fashionable boots. But when you’re a girl like me who has the hardest time finding a cute boot to fit my calf it gets a little tough. Even though my calf is on the bigger spectrum of standard wide calf sizing, I never let it stop me. I always like to shop around and see where I can find a boot that’s cute and fits me. This year I have been Pretty lucky and found not just one pair of perfect boots but five pairs. So here’s Three tips on finding a boot to fit those thick calfs.

1.Measure

You want to make sure when you’re shopping you know your calf measurements around the thickest part. Most websites and stores will state what the calf circumference is. This step is important because you can use it as a guide when buying boots to see if it will fit, especially if you’re buying boots online. Knowing those measurements makes it less stressful and saves you time.

Take either a string or measuring tape to the thickest part.

2. Stretch

Stretch is so Important. Always read what materials the boot is made of. If the boot has lycra, suede or leather 9/10 time it will stretch to fit over your calf. If shopping in store feel the material and see if it stretches at the opening. A lot of boots can stretch and become loose the more wear they get.

3. Sizing

Every company makes shoes different so always read or ask about the sizing. When it comes to shopping for boots, you be surprised to see that sometimes you may be a size smaller in a certain style.I know with some companies I can size up and others to size down. Double Your Denim Double The Fun

Denim ooooh how I love denim. If you haven’t noticed the denim on denim look is super trendy in the fashion world this season, All the stars young and old have been spotted mixing and matching denim .

So, of course, having such a huge love for anything denim related I had to find me a staple piece to add to my closet. When I say I have been searching high and low for the perfect Denim jacket to add to my wardrobe it’s a understatement. Well Owl Be The First Post of Many

After waiting and waiting and going back and forth with myself, Vana Black is finally Live people!!! *cue the confetti and balloons* I been told to make a blog for years but kind of kept pushing It off. One main reason is I was scared I didn’t think anyone would be interested. But with much encouragement from my mom and friends who I hold dear to me well here we are!

Vanablack is a Lifestyle blog created to give the world a glimpse into my life. On this blog expect to see a post on everything I’m interested in. From my passion for fashion and thrifting . My Love for makeup to my wild crazy adventures traveling. I’m still shocked my site is finally LIVE, it’s been a long time coming. So here’s to new beginnings on this roller coaster called VanaBlack.
