That Christian Omeshun Love Part 2!

Hey Everyone so Valentines Day just passed. I hope none of my single ladies let the day of love bring them down. For years, Valentine’s Day has been a holiday reserved exclusively for those in a serious relationship, dating or married, meaning those of us not spending the day with a significant other often felt like we were missing out.

However, if Valentine’s Day is a celebration of “LOVE” like they say, it seems only right that we should spend it with whoever we love doing what we enjoy – even if that’s not necessarily a romantic partner. It can be spending time with your self, a pet or even some close friends.

I don’t think anyone should let one made up holiday make them feel sad and depressed just because they don’t have a significant other. I rather spend the day surrounded by friends letting them know how much I love and appreciate the support they give me every day. Life is already hard as a woman and being a black woman it’s even harder. So this year I got to celebrate Valentines Day again decked out in a fabulous dress from Christina Omeshun .The founder A’Shontay Hubbard based out of a ATL  makes custom made to dresses and outfits for women size 12-30+                                      (  Yesss to being size inclusive) I love that she caters to all body types in the plus size market whether big or small. My wonderful friend and fellow blogger Chardline gathered us all together to rock our custom made dresses to celebrate the joys of friendship and loving one another on Valentines Day.

The ladies and I all had fun feeling like goddess taking on the town. I loved being able to connect and chat with the ladies. Surrounding yourself with woman who support you and believe in you, tell you that you can achieve your dreams and that you are beautiful and intelligent, is invaluable. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of women to spend Valentines Day with. Now enough about that let’s get into these looks.

4 ways to practice self-love on Valentine’s Day

February 14, 2018 · 1 Comment

Self Love

Valentine’s Day is here, which means you’ll see happy couples exchanging gifts for there significant other, or those last minute folks trying to set up a last-minute date so there not alone on this day of love.

People tend to feel resentment towards spending this day alone, but what many people forget is that your relationship with yourself is way more important than any other in life, which is why Valentine’s is the best day to prioritize your own needs and show yourself some compassion and love. Learning to be comfortable alone isn’t easy, but once you’ve mastered the skill of loving yourself, getting away from life’s demands can be pretty relaxing and blissful. Self-care is really important for emotional health and living a life. Studies have show that it can help you manage the symptoms of anxiety, depression and more.

So sit back relax and block out the world and follow these self-care rules to have your best Valentine’s Day yet.

1. Step away from social media

One of the worst things about Valentine’s Day – whether you’re single or in a relationship – is the endless materialistic displays of affection on social media. The whole day seems like a big competition; if you’re single, you feel unloved and down, and if you’re in a relationship, you start to compare your relationship to everybody else’s. Instead of spending the evening scrolling, shut down the app for the day. Your brain will thank you

2.Cook Yourself a Meal

Cooking for others is one of the biggest ways many show how much they care and appreciate others. But, what about doing it for ourselves? Sometimes we get so busy in life we are quick to get take out or skip the meal in general. Not today, Not on V-Day. Today, you’re going to cook yourself a meal of love. Grab a glass of wine (or cup of h20) and get creative in the kitchen. Make some yummy lobster mac and cheese or indulge in that steak, whatever it may be enjoy making it for you.

3. Treat Yourself

There are so many little things we neglect just because we don’t think we deserve them. Do you enjoy flowers? Go pick up some colorful buds just for you! Have you been eyeing a bag at store? Go buy that bag girl! Have you been wanting a massage but no time? Book it Hunny. The time is now

4.Write A Love Note

Focusing on our flaws is a bad habit we are all guilty of. ( I do it a lot) instead of nitpicking, write down a letter to yourself outlining all the good things you see in yourself. The positive thoughts will help raise your confidence. Look in the mirror, and see what it is you love about yourself and embrace it.

Ideally, we should be practicing these rituals all year long, but Valentine’s month is always a good place to start! Hope you all have a great day full of love and happiness.

Always Wear Your Invisible Crown

January 24, 2017 · 10 Comments

Plus Size Queen Sweatshirt

Believing in yourself and loving yourself is something many women and even some men all battle with in everyday life, it’s one of the hardest things to do in the world! Many of us don’t know about the power we possess within ourselves until later in life. I think all people deserve to be loved and empowered. That’s why I’m such a believer in the quote, “Always wear your invisible crown”. That quote can mean many different things to many different people.

While browsing the Internet (as I usually do), I discovered this awesome shirt on REBDOLLS that had the word QUEEN written on it. Now me being a former beauty pageant girl, I was like “shut up and take my money”, But the slogan on the sweatshirt meant a bit more to me than just the word QUEEN. For me, this sweatshirt mimics the way I live my life daily as the queen that I am. I try my best to always remain positive and smile as I take on life. I remember to always remain confident because loving myself first is important. If i don’t hold value within myself, who else will? My queen sweatshirt symbolizes me walking with my invisible crown, showing power, confidence and strength. My eagerness to take on anything that comes my way.

I love the fact that Rebdolls has such an empowering sweatshirt for women of all shapes and sizes to enjoy. If you are interested in showing your inner queen, make sure to head to Rebdolls and get your QUEEN sweatshirt available in sizes  small-4x. Currently I’m wearing a large and recommended to size down. This shirt also comes with a crop top option if you want a different look.

I hope all of you enjoyed reading my post, but most of all I hope you all remember to uphold and treat yourselves with the love and respect you deserve. We are all kings and queens and should live our life as such. Until next time keep on living life like the royalty you are hunny!

 Love

Vana
